ATTN: Christian leaders overseeing followers of The Way,
I implore you to consider these propositions for debate concerned with the question of Christians celebrating Halloween.
1. If you observe Halloween you are participating in Celtic customs.
2. Evil points to the existence of God.
3. Celebrating Halloween means honoring evil.
4. God calls His disciples to hate evil, not celebrate it.
5. Halloween is a “high unholy” day for the wicked.
6. Dressing kids in costumes for Halloween is a PG rated version of satanism.
7. Halloween is a celebration to invoke fear.
8. Light and darkness are incompatible.
9. Isaiah 5:20
10. Halloween is a pagan practice.
11. The passing out of treats and decorating your house or land for Halloween endorses vanity.
12. The origins of Halloween can be followed back to the ancient observance of Samhain.
13. Congregations that advertise trunk or treat, advertises compromise.
14. Halloween is a dysfunctional custom that is rooted in falsehood.
15. Teaching kids to compromise biblical truths encourages disobedience.

17. Endorsing customs that are not God ordained, empowers the adversary.
18. Trunk or treat is not a healthy alternative for Christian congregations.
19. God has not given us a spirit of fear.
20. Idolatry destroys souls.
21. Halloween is a modern practice of spiritual harlotry.
22. Good or bad, a human’s spiritual being is incredibly sensitive/receptive to sensory stimuli.
23. Welcome God’s precepts for He makes ready a Bride for examination.
24. The LIVING God has chosen to make His abode with the righteous.
25. Halloween in America is the practice of national idolatry.
26. Learning the way of the LIVING God is life.
27. Disciples who celebrates Halloween grieve God.
28. Halloween is a doctrine of vanity.
29. Halloween is rooted in practices that are in direct violation of Torah
30. The idolatrous custom of Halloween diverts attention away from God’s redemptive work for humanity.

32. Halloween does not encourage kids to be in the likeness & image of their Creator.
33. God will NOT bless American for commercializing Halloween.
34. It is foolish to learn the unfruitful customs of people outside the Christian faith.
35. Embracing the goodness of YHWH requires having a disdain for the profane.
36. Disciples of Jesus are called to evangelize, not compromise.
37. Deception should not be cultivated in discipleship culture.
38. Disciples are called to pattern their lives after godliness not wickedness.
39. Celebrating the day of the dead is not fruitful work.
40. Deliverance only comes by the Spirit of God, not costumes.

42. God is not dead.
43. Halloween does not have any biblical standing.
44. Faith without works is spiritual death.
45. Discernment is a spiritual gift.

47. The customs of the culture are testing grounds for the saints.
48. Celebrating Halloween is equivalent to erecting an Asherah pole in your home.
49. Deception is a practiced art.
50. Romans 12:2
51. Spiritual harlotry is a psychological issue.

53. Having compassion for those outside the Christian faith involves encouraging them to keep the first commandment.
54. Disciples of Christ are not called to encourage goblin & ghoulish behavior.
55. The Bible encourages all generations to teach kids godly activities.
56. The God of all nations is a jealous God.
57. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
58. You cannot serve idols & God.
59. The spirit of Halloween is alluring but not enduring.
60. The expectations of discipleship do not involve turning evil into a family friendly activity.
61. Celebrating Halloween does not align with the will of God.
62. Satanism is the practice of disobeying God.
63. Trickery is not a treat.

65. Disciples of Christ are called to resist the one who masquerades as an angel of light.
66. Trunk or treat is not a “healthy alternative” to a child’s spiritual nourishment.
67. Your physical actions are a byproduct of your spiritual condition.
68. Idolatry is a psychological issue.
69. Image bearers must seek truth & be led by The Holy Spirit.
70. The holidays created by the nations deviate from what God has ordained to be a true heritage for man.
71. Disobeying YHWH is witchcraft.
72. You cross over from death to life when the Spirit of God dwells in you.
73. Imago Dei: As a disciple of Christ, you are called to be God’s representative.
74. Like oil in water, disciples of Christ are not called to align with idols or the ways of the world.
75. Halloween is a costly practice that impairs the health of the participant.

77. Discernment is the act of using senses to expose deception.
78. The time of judgment will begin at the house of God.
79. Embracing doctrines of vanities grieves God.
80. Lèse-majesté: the celebration of Halloween is an offense act against YHWH.
81. Christ is above tradition, culture, and worldly desires.
82. Christ culture involves putting away anything that conflicts with righteousness.
83. Trunk or treat plants the seeds of falsehood into the minds of children.
84. Our adversary wants to bring the fullness of death to man & woman in this life & the next.
85. Ephesians 5:11
86. Halloween invokes fear, and he who abides in fear does not abide in love.
87. Idolatry is the influence of worldly customs that causes a person to draw their attention away from God.
88. Romans 8:6
89. Jesus’ death on the cross does not justify idolatrous behavior.
90. If you celebrate Halloween, you are not putting your faith in God.
91. Abstaining from Halloween is an opportunity to deny worldly ways and practice good spiritual habits.
92. Trunk or treat is an attempt to mix light and darkness together.
93. Halloween does not set a proper example of redemption to children.
94. Celebrating Halloween can open spiritual doors.
95. The dead know nothing.
